The ancient town of Battle owes its name to the most momentous battle in English history; as the site of William the Conqueror's victory at the
Battle of Hastings in 1066.
Today Battle is a thriving market town featuring many Georgian and Medieval cottages amongst a variety of interesting shops, boutiques, restaurants and tea rooms. Just six miles from the
Sussex coast and surrounded by glorious countryside, it emanates a quaint old-fashioned charm and is host to a variety of exciting events all the year round.
