Yesterday's World help local boy in his bid for some home comfort
Local boy Edward Brunger was given little chance of survival after being born eleven weeks premature in 1995. Having developed pneumonia and septicaemia, Edward now suffers from cerebral palsy, but still manages to enjoy a full life. However, Edward has to sit in his wheelchair all day long, and would love to play his computer and watch TV in the evenings like anyother little boy, but needs a specially adapted armchair, that 's not available on the NHS. Yesterday's World has joined the local support and is auctioning a Brittania Beanie Baby signed by Tony Blair, to help to raise the £1500 needed for the chair. If you would like to place a bid e-mail us at [email protected]

Pipeline Plans
With this summer well underway, plans are in hand for next years events and activities. New information boards are planned for the exhibition, as well as renovation work to the ever popular childrens play village, with the main event being a big street party, to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee. Three months of events will take place up and down the country, and a special four day weekend is planned for June 1st to 4th with the Monday and Tuesday being bank holidays. The exact date of the Yesterday's World event has not yet been named, but the celebrations will be remaniscent of the street parties and festivities of the Coronation forty nine years ago. Ty Warner commissions Brown Old Face exclusively for Yesterday's World
The latest addition to the UK's first Beanie Baby museum exhibition comes from Oakbrook Illinois, home of the Beanie Empire. Whilst at a trade fair in February 2000, Annette Buckley (founder of Yesterday's World) bumped into Ty Warner who was delighted to hear about her collection and her exhibition "Beanies on Holiday". Ty asked her if there were any bears she was missing, and Brown Old Face was the first name to pop into Annette's head. Having completely forgotten about their chance meeting, Annette was enthralled when her mysterious parcel arrived containing Brown Old Face, sent by Ty himself. Her prized Beanie is now on display in the Beanie Exhibition.

Yesterday's World leaflet
The Yesterday's World leaflet has proved very popular, and is being distributed in the South East by Caxtons of Ashford, and our own distributor. The bright red and yellow design is very striking and stands out really well in the dispensers and at trade shows. To order your copy, e-mail us at [email protected]
