Battle’s New Children’s Quiz

New children’s quiz brings 125 years of British Social Living History to life in Battle
A new children’s quiz will be launched in time for the start of the summer holidays at Yesterday’s World in Battle. The quiz will take children of all ages through the attraction, which recaptures the past through fantastic memorabilia dating from the 18th century right up to the 1950’s. When children have completed the quiz they will each receive a prize.
The age related questions are designed for children to have fun while learning about the various exhibits in the museum which currently has an incredible 150,000 fascinating artefacts from the past 125 years all displayed in authentic street scenes and shops.
The quiz will also take children into the royalty room which has letters from Queen Elizabeth II to Prince Phillip and interactive displays where well known characters including Queen Victoria and Prince Albert tell us about their lives.
Next they will enter the new First and Second World War exhibits to answer questions relating to the trenches experience and blitz scene.
In the traditional sweet shop you can buy retro sweets including sherbet fountains, rosy apples flying saucers, white mice, cider toffee and kola cubes.
The garden terrace is open daily and is the perfect place to relax while children run off steam in the play village and enclosed garden.
The vintage NAAFI style tearooms will be open daily with delicious light lunches and homemade cakes including some favourites from war time Britain.
The children’s quiz is free with admission which is adult £7.95, senior £6.95, student £6.95, special needs £5.75 (career £2. 00), Child (4-15 years) £5.75, family ticket ( 2+2) £23.50 - extra child £3.95
